Presentation sessions
The student presentations are an important part of the ICO Spring School. All attending PhD candidates will give a presentation on their thesis project, either in a Junior Presentation (recommended for 1st or 2nd year – less experienced – PhD students) or in a Senior Presentation (recommended for 3rd year or more experienced PhD students):
- The Junior Presentation can be either a Poster Presentation, or a Round Table Presentation.
- The Senior Presentation is a Paper Presentation.
The ICO OGSS staff members will act as discussant, together with more advanced PhD candidates that are present. This interaction with senior experts makes the Spring School an interesting meeting with lively discussions that often provide you with fruitful ideas and new inspiration for your research.
All presentations and discussions will be in English.
How to prepare
For all types of presentation session it is required to send in a paper and an abstract 14 February 2027. Check the pages for Paper presentation, Poster presentations or Round Table sessions for the details of the requirements. Preferably, you send in a paper or extended summary that has not yet been published, so you can really make use of the feedback from your audience. All papers will be accepted automatically.
Are you unsure about what to submit? We have added three papers that were send in for a previous Spring School.

Please feel free to approach the suggested presentation formats below in a flexible way and adapt them to suit your ideas. You are also welcome to experiment with new or innovative formats, but if you do we kindly ask that you briefly outline your chosen approach in the abstract you submit, so we can inform your session chair, the audience and/or discussant if needed.
